Mesh and Match

Hi, everyone!

This is a super late post that I had initially planned to do back in September 2014.
Just a quick run down of my favourite trend for the Spring/ Summer season just gone.

Mesh inserts, mesh sleeves, mesh neckline- you name it, I'm more than likely to buy it.

I mean, look... it's just so simple, yet adds a nice contrast to the outfit. I'm currently into this whole black/ white monochrome look so no surprises as to why I bought this top. Bagged this from a Miss Selfridge sale around mid summer-last year. I went for a classier style when I paired it up with the above dungaree shorts (another major hit last S/S!), but channels such a cute vibe when worn with a pair of light blue skinny's!

Of course my mesh fetish didn't stop there. Not even close to say the least (woops). What really attracted me to the top I'm wearing below is the mesh x leather x polyester (I think?) contrast. Plus, the peplum shape is just so flattering on short girls like myself. I wasn't sure whether to buy this or not since Zara only had this in sizes S, M, L but my awesome boyfriend ended up buying this for me as a Christmas present; lucky me! You can probably tell from the image that the waist fitting is a little loose, but nothing a blazer/ belt can't fix!

Moving on to some more casual pieces:
Please note that for the sake of the images, I simply popped these tee-shirts on top of my dungaree shorts (as shown above) to save myself the hassle of changing in public. I literally wore these out so much last year (despite having 2 wardrobe full of clothes), just because I found myself reaching for these on lazy- chill out kind of days the most! They're basic, yet not too boring. Perfect for slouching around in, a day at the library (or coffee shop in my case), or a casual day out with friends. Bought from Internacionale and New Look.

And the final piece before I wrap up this post, my most recent mesh purchase- a dress from H&M, in Hong Kong. Literally the LAST piece in store so I'm really glad I managed to get my mitts on it. There are mesh side inserts too but I no doubt had to fill the gaps with an under-layer purely because I knew I would be bloated after the steak meal I was about to consume!

Now do you guys understand my love for mesh? Available in different shapes and suitable for all kinds of occasions too. From casual I-can't-be-bothered-look to sophisticated I-feel-like-dressing-up and everything in between.

Psssst, style low down- guess what line will be continuing again for Spring/ Summer 2015? Yup, that's right- mesh! (according to trend forecasts). Guess I'll be re-working these pieces again this year whilst obviously adding to my ever-growing collection.

Hope I didn't bore you guys too much with this post.

Keep smiling, keep inspiring.
Love L x.
