Short hair, don't care.

Hi, everyone!

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's weekend; I sure did. (Blog post to follow soon).

This is just a quick post about my hair journey and why I have grown to love having short hair.

The majority of you who are currently reading have probably never seen me with long hair, and friends... well, you guys probably don't even remember how I looked a year ago before I decided to get it cut! After having a quick browse through my old files, I managed to dig up a few (somewhat embarrassing) images where I had long-ish hair (yes, it used to be even longer- below my waist towards my bottom at one point!).

The day before I had it all chopped off. Photo credits to ArJay.

Image taken 2 years ago at my old work place.
So... what made me decide to cut my hair? Well, it wasn't an impulsive decision or anything (oh God, no!). In fact, it was one of them things I had on my to-do list for months before I finally plucked up the courage to walk into the hair salon. I had wanted a long bob for a long time but I was just so used to my long hair that I didn't have the guts to do it. But one thing friends had always told me was that "hair grows back"... so with this in mind, off I went!

The result:

Cut by: Daniela Hair Salon, Leeds.

I was furious, embarrassed and upset with this awfully unprofessional hair cut. Safe to say that I never went back to the same hairdressers ever again!!! (It was my first time visiting- purely because of the convenience factor). On the plus side, at least people could tell the difference between the "before" and "after" cut whereas in the past, my trims were so minor that there were barely any difference.
With some advice and recommendation from a friend, she booked an appointment for me for the following day to get it fixed. And luckily, it turned out exactly how I had wanted it.

New result:

Approximately 10 inches shorter.
I was so relieved and satisfied with the service and haircut I had received. The lady was so nice aswell. It was since then that I have LOVED having short hair.

Benefits of short hair:
- Quick to wash
- Quick to style
- Quick to dry (are you seeing the pattern?)
- Looks good with or without hair products
- Perfect for lazy days
- Shapes face well
- Generally gives off a more professional and mature vibe
- All the celebrities have been sporting the short-haired look

Personally, I am lazy with my hair so it's really great that I can literally just walk out of the house without having to do anything to it in the mornings, especially when I am lacking time.

Here are some more recent images of my hair after having a couple of trims:

So here it is everyone, me with both long and short hair. I am currently in the process of growing it back out again for many reasons. But I can definitely say that I would recommend short hair... and NO RAGRETS... (not even a single letter!).
If you are thinking about going short, take the plunge and just do it. Don't think too much or else you may change your mind again. And always remember that "hair WILL grow back". Besides, there are always hair extensions if you really do dislike the change.

Hope this helps!

Keep smiling, keep inspiring.
Love L x.
