Valentine's Day

Hi, everyone.

It's that time of year again, where PDA is made acceptable and couples get all lovey dovey with each other... yup... it's Valentine's Day (tomorrow). So like most other bloggers, here I am about to write another Valentine's related post.

For all you singletons out there, stop moping around. It is just another day in the calendar year. Many people have been posting statuses and tweets saying how "depressing" tomorrow will be. Just remember that you are not alone.

Here are some do's and don'ts for tomorrow:
1) DO: Go spend time with your family and friends tomorrow. Use it as an excuse to gather together and just enjoy your day. Grab some popcorn and watch a chick flick or simply indulge in some cake (everyone loves cake!).
2) DO: Gym/ Exercise. Just because it's Valentine's Day doesn't mean you shouldn't continue your normal routine. After exercising, you will feel good about yourself and your body. Afterall, it is important to be happy with the skin you're in.
3) DON'T: Tomorrow is the day where a lot of people will feel lonely and look back at their previous relationships- DON'T. This will make you feel even worse than you already feel. Remember that there is a reason why you guys are not together anymore, let it go.
4) DON'T: Stop feeling sorry for yourself and putting yourself down. Just because you are not in a relationship does not mean that nobody wants you. You are worth more than that. Besides, who said that you have to be taken to be happy anyway?

Now for all the loved up couples out there, here are a few quick tips:
1) DO: Always appreciate your partner whatever it is that he/ she does for you. It could be as simple as a cooked meal, a handmade gift or a bunch of roses; whatever it is, appreciate it. Your partner has gone through the effort of choosing/ making something for you so always remember that it is the thought that counts!
2) DO: If you can, spend time with your partner tomorrow and if you can't, a phone conversation CAN go a long way. Show that you care and that you are thinking about him/ her. Even a quick "Happy Valentine's Day" message will be nice. However, d
on't wait for tomorrow to show your loved one how much they mean to you- show them every day.
3) DON'T: Yes, it is Valentine's Day, but never expect your partner to get the bill (this goes out to the boys also). Treat it as any other date. Offer to pay or split the bill, it shows that you value the time spent together and that they are worth it.
4) DON'T: People are often disappointed on Valentine's Day. Why? Because they expect huge gifts and when they don't receive it, they feel sad. Your partner may not be able to buy you that expensive handbag you've had your eyes on for ages or the latest gadget all the guys are talking about, but it's okay. Remember that you are not with him/ her for the presents. It is the little things that matter the most, right?

Beautiful roses my bf bought me last year :)

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. I hope that you all have a wonderful day whatever it is that you guys decide to do. Remember that it is just another ordinary day. Cheer up, and be happy- single or taken... You're all awesome.
I know that I am no love expert, but hopefully you guys will find this post useful; thanks for reading!

Keep smiling, keep inspiring.
Love L x.

  5. I really don't get why couples feel the need to buy each other gifts on Valentine's day. It was Christmas like yesterday.
